What's Your Hidden Talent?
The other day someone I had just met asked me “What’s your hidden talent?”
I drew a complete blank initially.
(I know my hidden un-talent, which is extremely specific: identifying cartoon animals on infant pajamas. Is that a tiger, a bear, or a dog? I could never tell the difference, but I digress.)
The question got me thinking about my unique abilities. Most aren’t particularly exciting, but they are pretty useful.
One that came to mind since that conversation is my ability to identify trends and patterns. Especially with numbers, but also with the types of problems I tackle with clients.
I realized that while every person, business, and story is different, there are a handful of shockingly consistent themes. So I sat down and wrote “the story” of my client base.
And now I’m curious - is this you?
You had a great run in corporate or consulting — maybe in marketing, sales, or operations. You were the one who could handle the big projects, juggle competing priorities, and still hit the numbers. You knew your way around a spreadsheet (even if the formatting was never exactly pretty).
Then something changed.
Maybe it was a new leadership team that shifted the culture.
Maybe it was a personal decision to finally take the leap.
Whatever the reason, you went all in on your own business — doing something in your zone of genius, following a passion you’ve had since you were ten, or finally turning that “favor for family and friends” into a service you get paid for.
Fast forward a couple of years…
The business is working. You’ve proven you can deliver, and the market wants what you offer.
But now you’re standing at a crossroads.
You’ve got decisions to make — about hiring, marketing, and where you want this business to go next. You’re great at getting things done, and you need a clear action plan, grounded in real numbers, that tells you:
- Am I priced right?
- Are my expenses too high?
- What happens if I invest in X?
Here’s the problem:
Your bookkeeper isn’t an advisor.
Your tax preparer only talks about the past.
Neither of them is helping you map the future.
That’s where I come in.
I help high-achieving entrepreneurs like you get the right financial information in the right format — so you can weigh the pros and cons, run the scenarios, and make confident, informed decisions.
I bring the outside perspective, expertise, and efficient process you’ve been looking for.
Because you don’t need more noise and questions.
You need clarity and answers.
If that is you, don’t worry - mind reading is not my real hidden talent. I just know your story because I’ve helped people like you.
And if you are ready to finally get some answers, hit reply and let me know, so we can start building that clarity together.
Take care,
Quinn
